I am back! With another fitness Friday, today I am back with another one! Like I said in last weeks blog, which you can access by clicking on the picture. This week is all about Moderation.
Why is moderation so important?- Taking fitness and healthy eating in moderation is very important in many, many different ways. Here are my opinions on why the main reasons why Moderation is very important.

- Eating healthy in Moderation.
When eating healthy to loose weight, it is very important that you don't starve yourself. Many people have an idea that if you leave out meals and starve yourself. You will lose weight and be healthy. This is very wrong.
If you starve yourself, then your body will go into starvation mode, which means your metabolism will start to slow down very quickly. This then means that every piece of food you eat your body will store as fat, as your body is starving.
Also a healthy metabolism is what helps us to break down our food, for it to digest this probably, This is why it's important for us to eat three healthy meals a day. So our metabolism starts from the moment we have breakfast.
Plus, when we then have a big meal, which you will, as you will miss food eventually. This meal will all store as fat, and you will be back to square one.
Having treats, and cheat meals in moderation, is also good. So if you have had a really good week of healthy eating, treating yourself to one cheat meal, or one cheat snack. This isn't wrong.
This means that you are still having a cheat now and again, so you're not missing out on your favourite foods.
It is actually proven that you will carry on healthy eating for longer if you are having a cheat meal once a week, as your still getting a treat once a week and not getting bored of just eating healthy.
- Exercising in Moderation.
If you over exercise, then you are putting a strain on your body such as your ligaments, tendons and joints. As your heart as is a muscle, this can become tired very quickly, and if strained it can even lead to heart failure. It can weaken your immune system, make you ill all the time. Can make your adrenaline high when you least want to such as night time. Which can make you not sleep, making you feel drained the next day.
All exercise can be done in moderation, especially when you are starting off, so stick with 3/4 times a week. So you are having rest days.
If you start off doing heavy exercise, seven times a week, the likely hood of you keeping this up is very little and not just that, you will soon become very ill, which will then lead to not exercising at all.
Don't end up like this. |
The main message of my blog post, is to realize that everything will come in time, but if you set yourself realistic goals and take exercising and eating in moderation, then your goals are achievable and sustainable, I really hope this has helped you. Tune in next Friday for the next Fitness Friday.
